After announcing the band would be taking a break and bass player Jack Sakrals’ departure in August, fans seriously doubted if Memoir of a Massacre would really make a return. Heads began to lift in October, when the band announced plans to head into the studio with Anthem Studio for a 2013 release along with upcoming shows. The bands announced that while there was no name for the EP, recent crowd favorite ‘Possession’ would be the single for the EP. Since its release, ‘Possession’ has been well-received by many for it’s in your face attitude and genre-blending.

As of November 30, Memoir of a Massacre announced its signing to Project: Records, promoting the coming release of the now-named ‘Images’ EP, set for January release. While they have announced that another fan-favorite, ‘Push To Break’ will be on the EP, they are keeping quiet about other possible tracks saying that the EP is looking to combine both musical extremities of Memoir of a Massacre. Jordan Swickard of Project: Records says that ‘Possession’ will be available for download as of December 12, 2012, as will the rest of the EP upon release. Fans will be able to find MOAM at digital download sources such as Itunes, Amazon, and 398 other stores.

“It’s been a rough ride, but we plan on returning stronger than ever before,” says drummer Brittany Yarnell. “We’re still in a bit of a strangle-hold for a bass player, but rest-assured, we’ll have everything up and running again in no time!”

To celebrate our signing to Project: Records, we would like to share Project: Records release of ‘Possession’ of the coming “Images” EP:

As Gallows faced 2012, the notorious UK punk band had no idea what the year might bring. The band had recently departed company with their frontman Frank Carter and despite an excellent reaction to the short, sharp shock of their ‘Death Is Birth’ EP at the end of 2011, their first material with new singer Wade MacNeil, none of the band could really have  predicted how the new line-up would be received.

Fast forward a year and it’s like Wade has been in the band forever. Tearing through the festivals in the summer and laying down an incredible third album in their hometown of Watford, when their self-titled opus finally arrived, any doubters were very quickly silenced. “It’s our statement of intent, our laugh in the face of those who said Gallows were done,” claimed the band and the press could only agree, as the album was critically-acclaimed across the board.

Having Just finished a sold-out UK tour that saw Gallows dominate stages with more passion, anger and conviction than ever before, the  band are now proud to announce the release of ‘Cross Of Lorraine’ as a single this coming December 10th on Venn Records. Already a firm live favourite, it’s the track that brings ‘Gallows’ third album to a rousing final, capturing everything that is important about the band in 2012 in a three minute attack. Snarling and anthemic, it works its way under your skin and refuses to budge. You have been warned.

Dingo bassist Philip Wiltshire talks about the band’s new EP, Inconsistent, out now.

Buried In The Blue

Buried In The Blue is the first song on the EP. We picked it to be the opener because it is a really fast, heavy yet very melodic song which hits hard.
Lyrically the song is about losing yourself and “burying” who you used to be.
People change, everyone does for the better or worse. That’s what this song is about.

Horse Or Carriage

This song is about pulling your own weight. When you’re doing something, make sure you put your part in and don’t let others do everything for you. You can either be the horse, and do the work.Or you can be the carriage, and get pulled through your life, burdening others.Which one are you?

Going South

Going South is very melodic, short and fast. The lyrics are not serious and were only written as a joke. We do in fact not praise Satan. Musically, the song is very powerful. Fast riffs and melodic synths and a breakdown which is very easy to jump to.

Vanity

This is a really heavy song with a hardcore feel. It expresses how much beauty ideals have been blown out of proportion. People are forgetting what really matters such as values and morals. “Climb your way upon the sharpest thorn” is one of the lyric lines from the song. The thorn resembles the consequences and more and more people are “climbing” higher and higher to gain acceptance.

Casualties

This is a song about America. A country that, in our opinion, has way to easy access to guns. Anyone can arms themselves. We think this is wrong. We think this is the cause of so many deaths every year, and it can so easily be avoided.

The songs message is that the people who run America and the people of America need to stand up and fight for what’s important. We decided for this song to be the finishing song of the EP because the end is very powerful, it has a lot of melody and almost an epic feel.

We Are Triumphant is excited to announce the signing of New York’s Towers. Earlier this fall the band had released “Malice Hands” for free download, and just released the music video on YouTube with the signing announcement. Having formed in 2011, “Malice Hands” introduces listeners to Towers’ brand of deathcore that they hope breaks through stereotypes and deliver pulse pounding progressive heavy music to anyone willing to listen.

March 26, 2013 is going to be a very good day for SEVENDUST fans. That day brings the highly anticipated release of the band’s brand new album, their ninth studio effort, BLACK OUT THE SUN, on their 7Bros. Records label (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group). The first single, “Decay,” will be released to radio and available for download at online retail outlets January 22, 2013.

Anxious to share the scorching new sounds, SEVENDUST will set out on a headlining tour with Lacuna Coil starting February 2, 2013 in Winston-Salem, NC at Ziggy’s. Tickets for the shows listed below will go on-sale Friday, November 30, 2012. Fans should check their local ticket outlets for purchase info. More shows for SEVENDUST are currently in the works and will be announced in the coming months.

In a recent interview with Revolver, guitarist John Connolly described the new music as having “a darker vibe…but there’s still plenty of melody. It fits right in with ANIMOSITY, ALPHA and our self-titled album. Lots of heavy stuff and some more mellow moody songs as well.” As guitarist Clint Lowery proclaims in Guitar World, “There’s a dark turn to the whole thing…in a lot of ways, it’s your typical SEVENDUST record.” The magazine goes on to declare that BLACK OUT THE SUN “will eclipse its predecessors with its southern-rock brutality and bursts of industrial and reggae.”

For BLACK OUT THE SUN, the band - Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals) and John Connolly (guitar/vocals) - decided to self-produce and record the new album at The Architekt Studios in Butler, NJ with the help of mixer/engineer Mike Ferretti (who also worked with Lowery and Rose on CALL ME NO ONE's debut album, LAST PARADE, which was released June 5 on 7Bros Records).

BLACK OUT THE SUN is the follow-up to COLD DAY MEMORY, which was released April 20, 2010and debuted at #12 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, the highest debut of the bands’ storied 8 studio album, 15 year career.  Along with it being SEVENDUST’s highest charting debut ever, the album’s first single, “Unraveling,” set a debut milestone as well. It entered the BDS Active Rock radio chart higher than any other SEVENDUST track. It surpassed 2003’s “Enemy,” which wound up peaking at #6 and is currently their highest charting song to date. At radio, “Unraveling” is the most well received SEVENDUST song ever.

Once the band’s two years of touring in support of COLD DAY MEMORY came to a close, the band decided to go on hiatus to recuperate, regroup, and spend time with their families. In typical SEVENDUST fashion, the resting period didn’t last long. It was time to get back to work. Lowery and Rose ventured out to The Architekt Studios to record their CALL ME NO ONE album, while guitarist Connolly and bassist Hornsby, along with Alter Bridge/Creed drummer Scott Phillips, and Tremonti Project/Creed guitarist Eric Friedman formed the band PROJECTED. Their debut album, HUMAN, was released September 18 on Connolly’s own Yaya Papu LLC. label.

As Lowery stated in Guitar World, “Playing in side projects was a way to kind of scratch an itch and then come back to SEVENDUST with full appreciation for what it is.” And as the magazine concluded, “Consider that itch scratched.”
