Baltimore, MD alt-rockers Have Mercy begin recording their debut LP today with producer J. Robbins (Hostage Calm, Against Me!, The Promise Ring) at Robbins’ studio The Magpie Cage. Tentatively titled “The Earth Pushed Back,” the album will be released via Topshelf Records in April 2013.

Topshelf co-founder Seth Decoteau says, "We’re really excited that Have Mercy is recording with J. Robbins who will be able to help produce the best possible debut LP for them. This is going to be a great album.”

Established in the summer of 2011, Have Mercy self-released their EP “My Oldest Friend” in February of 2012, grabbing the attention of Topshelf. Have Mercy’s combination of the emotionally driven vocals and powerful dynamics conjures a sound reminiscent of their music heroes such as Sunny Day Real Estate and Texas Is The Reason and the band’s live intensity needs to be witnessed firsthand.

Most recently seen on the road with The Jealous Sound, Have Mercy will begin their winter tour with NJ’s Dads on December 5th in Alexandria, VA.
