Willimantic, CT indie rockers The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die officially released their critically acclaimed new LP “Whenever, If Ever” today on Topshelf Records. The band is also premiering their new music video on Death + Taxes.

In talking with the magazine about the video, guitarist Greg Horbal explains, “Directed and edited by the brilliant Geoff Hoskinson, a sequence of nature scenes seems to possess unnatural and supernatural qualities. Intercut with stark minimal geometric scenes, this music video expresses a feeling of displacement and alternate realities / possibilities paired with a song about decaying rental property, LSD experiences, and the personification of a decades worth of punk show fliers.”

Baltimore, MD alt-rockers Have Mercy begin recording their debut LP today with producer J. Robbins (Hostage Calm, Against Me!, The Promise Ring) at Robbins’ studio The Magpie Cage. Tentatively titled “The Earth Pushed Back,” the album will be released via Topshelf Records in April 2013.

Topshelf co-founder Seth Decoteau says, "We’re really excited that Have Mercy is recording with J. Robbins who will be able to help produce the best possible debut LP for them. This is going to be a great album.”

Established in the summer of 2011, Have Mercy self-released their EP “My Oldest Friend” in February of 2012, grabbing the attention of Topshelf. Have Mercy’s combination of the emotionally driven vocals and powerful dynamics conjures a sound reminiscent of their music heroes such as Sunny Day Real Estate and Texas Is The Reason and the band’s live intensity needs to be witnessed firsthand.

Most recently seen on the road with The Jealous Sound, Have Mercy will begin their winter tour with NJ’s Dads on December 5th in Alexandria, VA.

Boston, MA indie Topshelf Records will release the new record from Baltimore, MD rock band Pianos Become The Teeth on November 1st. Titled The Lack Long After, the album was recorded by Kevin Bernsten at Developing Nations Studio, where the band’s previous effort Old Pride was recorded.

Pianos Become The Teeth has a melodic yet uncompromising sound that brings to mind such diverse and influential bands as Thursday, Envy and City of Caterpillar. Brimming with sincerity and brandishing an experimental ambiance, the band is pushing beyond the boundaries of a stale genre. Mixing elements of screamo, hardcore as well as post rock, The Lack Long After breathes new life into a once decaying scene. Cover art and track listing for The Lack Long After will be revealed soon.

Pianos Become The Teeth will be doing a full US tour this fall in support of their new record with Touché Amoré and Seahaven (w/ Circle Takes The Square playing a few select dates as well). The tour will span from October 31st to December 11th. Check out the dates below:
