SLASH has achieved his first-ever #1 hit at rock radio as “You’re A Lie” vaults to the #1 spot this week at Active Rock.  The explosive songis the first track from SLASH’s second solo album APOCALYPTIC LOVE, which was released May 22 and entered the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart at #4, marking the top rock debut that week. Watch the video for “You’re A Lie” here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SZrJLMTO-8.

This news comes as SLASH Featuring Myles Kennedy and The ConspiratorsMyles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums) and Todd Kerns (bass)—are coming off a successful European trek and getting ready to launch a summer headlining tour July 12 in Portland, OR. Meanwhile, on July 10, the iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee will be honored with his own star on the Hollywood Blvd Walk of Fame.

APOCALYPTIC LOVE also entered the Top 5 in seven countries outside the U.S.: Canada (#2), Australia (#2), New Zealand (#1), Germany (#5), France (#7), Japan (#2), Sweden (#4) and Switzerland (#3).  All the songs on APOCALYPTIC LOVE (Dik Hayd International, distributed through EMI Label Services) were written together by SLASH and Myles Kennedy.

SLASH and his band are riding a wave of critical acclaim with a four-star review in Revolver magazine  noting: “Apocalyptic Love is at heart a collection of lean, high-octane rock-and-roll tunes built to be blasted out of open-top sports cars or, more suitably, open-air stadiums” (July 2012).  Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Times said: “Fans of his work in GNR and Velvet Revolver will find much to embrace in the album’s 13 tracks, ranging from the sneering rock hooks of ‘You’re a Lie’ and the heavy metal grind of ‘Halo’ to the extended instrumental passages on ‘Anastasia’” (May 24, 2012).

Taking underground bass music culture by storm, GETTER is a new artist to release music through DATSIK’s Firepower label.   Set for release tomorrow, June 26, his five-track PSYCHO EP features four instrumentals: “Ill Shit,” “Ill Shit (Liquid Stranger Remix),” “Deadly” and “Wizard Flex” along with the title track “Psycho” featuring U.K. MC and hype man Inja.

The San Jose, CA native has been taking over stages across the States for the last two years with a high-energy stage presence and bass-infused sets that crush the dance floor.  Before he was 18, GETTER had multiple releases on underground labels such as Ultragore, Prime Audio and Chronos. What he is best known for are his signature guttural basses.

GETTER is currently being supported by the biggest names in the EDM scene. Rusko, Flux Pavilion, Datsik, Borgore, Inspector Dubplate, Funtcase and Downlink are just a few of the producers that have been featuring GETTER’s music in their live sets. 2012 will definitely be an epic year for this young producer.  Keep an eye out for this young blood, bass slinger in your city.

The five-track PSYCHO EPfeatures GETTER’s killer cuts:

  1. Ill Shit
  2. Deadly
  3. Wizard Flex
  4. Psycho Featuring Inja
  5. Ill Shit (Liquid Stranger Remix)

Circa Survive have announced the name of their new album, Violent Waves, which they will self-release on August 28. You can download a new song called “Suitcase” here - and that link also has pre-orders, which include a $750 option with handwritten lyrics, limited to 11.

Greetings All!

We are excited to announce that we have chosen to self-release our 4th album, “Violent Waves” on August 28th.
Over the years we have been on both indie and major record labels. We are thankful for the opportunities we’ve had with them but it’s 2012 and we want to try something we’ve never done before. We produced this record ourselves. This is raw Circa Juice straight from us to you. We also paid for it with our own money; money that likely came from you buying a ticket or t-shirt over the years. All in all we have never been more deeply involved in every aspect of creating a record.

Starting now you can pre-order “Violent Waves” directly from our website. The digital version will only be $5. We’ve tried to make it as affordable as possible and we hope you’ll help us by spreading the word to your friends and families so we can continue doing what we love. By choosing to download or buy our record straight from us you are choosing to give our band a future and are directly supporting us and our families.

As a band we will always support independent record stores - any store that wants to carry our record is welcome to order it directly from us as well. The record will also be available on iTunes. We’re also really excited to announce a US tour in support of the record in the Fall, and two special release shows in Philadelphia August 24th and 25th. All tickets will go on sale this Friday, check your email for pre-sale information which will start on Wednesday. Touche Amore, Balance and Composure and O’brother will be supporting us on the tour. Openers for Philadelphia will be announced soon.

We have always looked at Circa Survive as more than just a band. Above all it’s been a relationship between the five of us and you and everyone who has ever been involved in this community we’ve built together. We believe that this step will bring us even closer. Big thanks to our friend Esao Andrews for once again creating the perfect artwork to match our sounds, and most importantly thanks to you for your endless support.

Infinite Love,

Circa Survive

New Jersey’s psychedelic indie-rock quintet, The Ugly Club, will be releasing their debut full-length album, You Belong To The Minutes, on July 13th. With the release of their debut album, You Belong To The Minutes”, The Ugly Club is vocally ambitious and teeming with intelligent arrangements not unlike the most progressive artists of our time.  Reaching psychedelic highs comparable to My Morning Jacket and Radiohead, the delicate inclusion of jazz, indie-rock, and Prince-eqsue neo-funk sends listeners into an unanticipated daydream. Add in mesmerizing vocals reminiscent of The Strokes and this is without a doubt a highly anticipated album for Summer 2012. Check out the making of You Belong To The Minutes here:http://youtu.be/uPd7JEWLR1w.

Fearlessly honest and unwaveringly persistent, The Ugly Club, has been operating for nearly two years with such a force that the band has become impossible to ignore. Formed in 2009, The Ugly Club consists of Ryan Egan (vocals/guitar), Joseph Stasio(vocals/guitar), Taylor Mandel (keyboard/piano/trumpet/melodica), Rick Sue-Poi (bass) and Ryan McNulty (percussion).  Following the success of their debut EP, Visions of Tall Girl, The Ugly Club’s fans have been hungry for more of their unique, infectious sound. Even hungrier to deliver, The Ugly Club began a Kickstarter campaign to help fund a full-length album. The band’s devotion to their fans and vice versa became evident when the campaign raised more than double its goal, making the release of You Belong To The Minutes a celebration for the band and fans alike.

Since the humble beginnings of The Ugly Club in various small towns throughout central New Jersey, the band has had high aspirations and an unfaltering vision of their career path.  Two self-released/produced EPs deep, the band has independently toured the east coast playing notable venues and festivals like SXSW in Austin, TX and has received praise from publications like The Music Slut, Absolutepunk.net, Forbes.comThe Deli Magzine & countless others.  "If White Arrows were the hardest working ‘official’ SXSW band, The Ugly Club was the hardest working ‘unofficial’ band,” says Mike Henneberger of Stages & Stereotype.com, regarding the bands’ tireless efforts busking, promoting and playing gigs during music week.  With the help of both DIY marketing and free-download distribution, the bands’ previous release, Visions of Tall Girl EP has surpassed 100k downloads worldwide.

About the LP, Egan tells us, "Having the opportunity to show people this record is definitely the most monumental point in our career. This is the first time that we have an art piece that truly represents the band and will set the precedent for the future of our sound."

The Ugly Club will release You Belong To The Minutes on July 13thFor more information, keep up with the band on their networks:
