Montreal’s RAGE NUCLEAIRE have signed to Season of Mist. The band will release their debut album entitled “Unrelenting F*cking Hatred” in the fall. RAGE NUCLEAIRE was formed by legendary vocalist Lord Worm (ex-CRYPTOPSY) and includes guitarist Dark Rage (ex- CRYPTOPSY) and bassist Alvater (ex – FROZEN SHADOWS) in it’s ranks.
The band issued the following statement: “If anyone had ever told us that someday we’d be signed to Season of Mist, we’d have laughed at them. The point is, being accepted into the SoM family, along with such ungodly notables as ARCKANUM, MAYHEM and DEATHSPELL OMEGA, is like being given a Sith name - it feels great to be part of SoM’s evil empire.”
Northern Ireland’s Fighting With Wire is gearing up for the release of their sophomore album, Colonel Blood, due out September 25 on Xtra Mile Recordings/ILG. In anticipation of the release, the band has revealed the first single, “Waiting On A Way To Believe,” a direct and fast-paced anthem with driving rock riffs and instantly memorable melodies.
Colonel Blood is the follow-up to their critically-acclaimed 2008 debut Man Vs Monster which earned the Derry-based trio international recognition. BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe proclaimed it “absolutely phenomenal from the start to the end, a flawless modern rock record,” while Absolutepunk.net declared it “a bona fide homerun…they are poised to make a huge splash with their aggressive but relentlessly propulsive brand of rock, filling a long-empty void in the musical landscape.”
Recorded in Nashville with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Deftones, Foo Fighters, Danzig), the 11-song set is a straight-up rock record that delivers belting riffs, brutal rhythmic attacks and sing-along choruses. Lead guitarist and vocalist Cahir O’Doherty explains, "With this new record we really focused on the songs, we’re all influenced by early 90’s American rock so making this record we tried to give that 90’s sound a modern makeover. It was great working with Nick Raskulinecz in Nashville, he really got what we were trying to do and helped us make this record sound huge."
Fighting With Wire is Cahir O’Doherty (Lead guitar, Vocals), Craig McKean (Drums, Vocals) and Jamie King (Bass). They just wrapped a U.K. headlining tour as well as dates with revered metal pioneers Helmet. Meanwhile, Rock Sound just named them "Band Of The Week." Read the feature and listen to “Waiting on a Way to Believe” here: http://bit.ly/Nlmzso. Stay tuned for a U.S. tour announcement coming soon.
Born from a passion for music and a strong DIY ethic, U.K.-based Xtra Mile Recordings started in 2003 to release albums by post-hardcore band Million Dead and rock outfit Reuben. After receiving critical acclaim for both albums, the label slowly began to grow and year on year the roster expanded, playing host to an eclectic array of emerging and established acts, that include Frank Turner, The Xcerts, Crazy Arm, Far, I Am The Avalanche, Against Me!, Future Of The Left, Dave Hause, Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun, Fighting Fiction and Straight Lines plus many more.
The wildly progressive Norwegian black metal outfit KHONSU have debuted “The Host”, the first track off of their new album ‘Anomalia’, on the Season of Mist Facebook Page.
‘Anomalia’ will be released by Season of Mist on August 28th. The album will be released as CD digipack limited to the first pressing and hand-numbered double gatefold LP.
Go Radio is pushing back their new album, Close the Distance, until September 18th.
We just wanted to clear up a few things about ‘Close the Distance’. We had to push the release back to make sure everything was as perfect as we know you guys deserve. It’s hitting shelves September 18th, so everyone mark your calendars and be ready for the greatest record any of us have been a part of. This is a monumental release for us, and we can’t wait to get it to you guys.
Wanted to let you know that we recently rejoined forces with AEROSMITH, currently on their “Global Warming Tour” across North America, and who will be releasing their new album of new material MUSIC FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION in early November. The band’s summer tour brings the Bad Boys of Boston back to rock America’s soul. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees—who celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2010—show no signs of slowing down.
Meanwhile, check out the video for “Legendary Child”—one of the tracks from the from the forthcoming MUSIC FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION album—which debuted yesterday on VEVO: http://www.vevo.com/watch/aerosmith/legendary-child/USSM21200740.
AEROSMITH—Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) and Joey Kramer (drums)—has defined American rock ‘n roll and amassed a career that is truly amazing: over 150 million albums sold worldwide, earned countless awards including 4 Grammy’s, 8 American Music Awards, 6 Billboard Awards and 12 MTV Video Music Awards among others and scores of multi-platinum albums.
Philadelphia, PA’s Amanda Penecale has released her third album and first LP, Time and Tide. For this album, Penecale teamed up with producer and musician Erik Hischmann to add depth and perspective throughout all phases of the album’s conception. The release comes on the heels of Amanda securing a finalist spot at the recent Philadelphia Songwriters Project contest with her song “Hand to Hold”.
Time and Tide reveals Penecale’s ranging musical moods, all of which naturally connect in an earthy, atmospheric and dreamy way. Penecale set out to challenge herself musically on this album, drawing from deep within her psyche to make an album that strongly reflects her considerable artistic talents.
Lyrically, Time and Tide paints picture-perfect tales, finely flowing and effortlessly linked, yet it’s the music she uses to great effect to set the mood. Penecale admits that her background in illustration strongly influences her music (She holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design); she wants her songs to express the dynamic detail of the world as experienced through her senses. Time and Tide shares the feelings that come from distinct places and things familiar to Penecale’s life, as she puts it: “When creating music, I aim to give just enough punch to intrigue while always holding a little back for that pop—similar to a dash of crimson in a painting. My intention is to be in control of how the music I create effects the sense of time and place for a listener, causing them to stop and wonder along with my word and sound.”
Penecale has proven she shows her brightest side through her music: “She sings her original songs in a crystal clear voice that lacks the shyness that is often found in a lot of singer/songwriters. This is enjoyable music no matter what your preferred genre.” -The indie Music Review
“I am always drawn to water, and I love the metaphorical aspect of a tide and how our days are framed by the cycle of the sun and the moon.” – Amanda Penecale on Time and Tide
Time and Tide is now available via Amanda’s website, iTunes, Amazon.com and CDbaby, as well as at Siren Records (Doylestown, PA) and Newtown Book and Record Exchange (Newtown, PA).
Texas Is The Reason will be reuniting for the Revelation Records 25-year anniversary show on October 11 in New York City at Irving Plaza. They will play on the first night of the anniversary event, and Underdog, Shades Apart, Gameface, and On the Might of Princes will also be performing. A teaser video can be found here.

After spending much of the past several months headlining tours of Europe, Japan and Australia – with stops in New Zealand, Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore along the way – globe-trotting metal titans AUGUST BURNS RED are excited to announce their return to their native continent with a Fall North American headlining tour. The tour marks the band’s first dates in the States since kicking off the year with a successful US headliner which packed in record crowds for the band, resulting in sold-out venues in nearly every market.
Fresh off a run of European festival and headlining dates, the band will launch their five-week, 30-city North American tour on August 31st with support from THE COLOR MORALE, labelmates THE OVERSEER and a yet-to-be-named special guest, before heading back to Europe where they’ll hit 12 countries in four weeks.
Perennially looking to give back to their fans, ABR are also pleased to announce an exclusive VIP package available for those looking to attend the tour. The deluxe option includes 1 concert ticket, an exclusive t-shirt, 11x17 lithograph and a preorder of the band’s forthcoming Christmas album, due later this year (details TBA) and goes on sale Thursday, July 12 at 10am.
