It's Sunday, which means it's Staff Recommendation Day. Let us know what you've enjoyed this week.
The Brand New/Taking Back Sunday feud has been going on since the early 2000's but Adam Lazzara (TBS vocalist) just can't let it go. Speaking to OC Weekly, he was asked about Jesse Lacey:
When asked about playing a song like "There's No 'I' In Team," which directly references a longstanding feud with the band Brand New (specifically front man/former Taking Back Sunday bassist Jesse Lacey), Lazzara continues to add fuel to the old fire. "I think Jesse Lacey is just a dick," he says. "He just sucks. He's not a good person." Lazzarra goes on "Who am I to say?", he says. "There's somebody out there that's gonna say I'm not a good person. I don't know."
YouTube isn't a profitable business even with revenue of $4 billion in 2014.
The culprit, apparently, is that most users arrive at videos via links, rather than daily visits to the YouTube homepage where Google could charge a premium for ads. WSJ also reports that the site's reach isn't very wide either, with one source's estimate that nine percent of viewers account for a whopping 85 percent of online-video views. That makes it a much less appealing audience for advertisers than traditional TV programming, despite the outfit's increasing investment in original content.
VentureBeat is reporting that Spotify knows your listening habits...and more.
Spotify vice president of North American advertising Brian Benedik said that thanks to its requirement that every user — paying or non-paying — sign in to use the service, it collects an “enormous amount of data on what people are listening to, where, and in what context. It really gives us insight into what these people are doing.”
Benedik explained that thanks to the data it has on its users, both from those who register directly through the service and from those who sign in using Facebook Connect, it knows a lot about users’ age, gender, and location. “All that first-party data is wonderful,” he said. “We can follow a listening from the desktop to” other devices.
Arkham's EP , The Great American Goodbye, was self released by the band last year. For the occasion, we asked vocalist Adam Bevel to tell us about each track. His commentary on the full album can be seen below
Tool's new record is "coming together swimmingly" according to Maynard James Keenan who posted an update via Puscifer's Facebook page:
From MJk: I've been making regular trips to LA to check on the writing progress of my Tool brethren. Things are progressing nicely. Slowly, but definitely progressing. Nothing is recorded yet, but the guys are confident that the pieces are coming together swimmingly and will be ready for me to begin writing melodies and content 'soon'. I'm as anxious to get this album completed as everyone else. But as history will show, you can't rush these gents. Patience is Gold in this Sound Mine. In the meantime, as always, other things are simultaneously occurring. Life is too short not to create something with every breath we draw.

Normally we don't post about shitty bands but this was too good to pass up. Andy Biersack from Black Veil Brides tries to act tough on stage and offers to fight a heckler. Of course, he has to get riled up about it to show off to their preteen crowd instead of just kicking the guy out like Dave Grohl would do. Watch the hilarious confrontation below.
