Imminence Records’ Lament has just released their new single entitled “Utopia” on YouTube. Guitarist Kyle Bonello commented on the standalone single by saying, “With our new single, we are trying out new ideas since we now have two guitarists to bounce ideas off of. The idea for “Utopia” was to incorporate more melodic parts while trying to maintain the overall heaviness of our first release. The idea of the single was to give everyone a taste of what is to come in 2013. We are hoping for it to be a good year for us.” Lament will follow up this single with a split EP with Isolations and Angelmaker, a new release on Imminence Records, and lots of touring.

Ontario alt rockers Ravenscode have released their captivating and highly accomplished debut album, District Of Broken Hope. The album is out now at: http://www.ravenscode.com/?product_cat=albums

Ravenscode shot to prominence in Canada off the back of two highly acclaimed EPs, including 2011’s self titled effort, landing a range of festivals slots including KOI, Strawberry Festival and the prestigious Canadian Music Week as well as receiving air time on over 100 different radio stations and podcasts. With the momentum and fan base surrounding Ravenscode rapidly picking up pace, word of the talented rockers’ radio friendly blend of melodic alternative rock quickly spread beyond the music scene alone, with tracks featuring during half time breaks in hockey leagues across North America, including that of a Detroit Red Wings game. Equally as impressive a suitor is the man behind the artwork for District Of Broken Hope - internationally recognized British artist Charlie Adlard of The Walking Dead fame.

Crown the Empire killed it onstage in Atlanta last Monday night for the Take Action Tour with friends, We Came As Romans and The Used.  They really had the crowd going, especially with the moshpits they created. Playing mostly songs from their debut album, “The Fallout” their  fans were very familiar with the lyrics as they screamed them along with the band, including my favorite song “Makeshift Chemistry”. For  being a new upcoming band from Rise Records, CTE did not disappoint.

Atlanta was going crazy waiting for We Came As Romans to hit the stage. I talked to Kyle Pavone (clean vocals) before they went on and he  seemed pretty stoked to play for Atlanta. With Kyle’s singing, Dave’s screaming, and the band’s instrumentals, this band was giving their  fans one hell of a show. WCAR was warming this crowd up for The Used, even though these fans were already anticipating their stage arrival.  While playing three new songs, We Came As Romans were giving the fans what they paid for and a show to remember. Not only are they an  awesome band but they are some pretty chill guys off the stage as well.

After waiting for what seemed like forever, the lights finally dimmed and The Used walked out on the stage. They wasted no time and  launched right into “Listening” a song from their second album, In Love and Death. Their setlist included a few favorites, including the songs,  “he Bird and the Worm”, “The Taste of Ink”, and “All That I’ve Got”. Bert must have not been feeling too well cause he seemed to use the mic  stand more than necessary.

At one point in the show, a female fan threw a shirt on stage with the lyrics from a “Sold My Soul” on it, a song  from their 2009 album, Artwork. Bert noticed the shirt had one of the words was wrong, but was nice enough to let her on stage to help sing  a few songs. Before they played their next to last song, Bert asked the crowd for wall of death, which the crowd happily obliged to. Being my  first time seeing The Used, I was very impressed; stoked to seem on Vans Warped Tour this summer.

Pics from the Atlanta show can be seen below.
