Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.

Rich Page- Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals
Peter McDermott- Bass and Backing Vocals

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Vitality? How long has the band been around?

We've been around for the past three years. We formed in 2013 and have been playing around the New York area ever since.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

We were all a bunch of friends who all started playing music together in high school and we went thru a couple name changes before settling on Vitality.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

The majority of our songs are written by the band as a collective. The majority of our songs are about stories that have happened in our lives, like house parties, relationships, and weird experiences we have had. These topics will change over time, because we are constantly changing as people and writers

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Some of our biggest musical influences are The Strokes, Young The Giant, and Weezer. We love a wide variety of music so we like to combine styles and write different types of songs to fit what we like listening too.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

I don't think their was a specific concert that inspired us, but there was one that made us take our band seriously. When we saw Modern Baseball in New York a while back we saw that regular guys who were like us could really make it with there music and not have to sell themselves to do so.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

Lots and lots of pushups, jumping around, and vocal excercises to get prepped for every single show.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

The highlight has either been playing at Webster Hall this year to a ton of people in our city or playing at the Mahopac Music Festival in 2014 to a crowd of 250 people.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Some bands we would love to tour with are Modern Baseball, Young the Giant, or The Killers. Past bands are probably The Ramones and Iggy Pop and the Stooges.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
