For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Stay Loud? How long has the band been around?
Gerry- Malt Liquor Factor
Chris- Perfect Focus
Jonathon- Perfect Focus, Ten Stories, Hearts Unknown
Stay Loud has been around for over 5 years now!
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
When we were figuring out the name we were and still doing punk style music and that kind of music need to be cranked to 11! Loud as you can possibly play it! So we decided why not Stay that way! Resulting in our name!
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
Chris usually writes a majority of our tunes. Until this new album it’s been Chris and Jonathon! Gerry and CJ put a lot into the song writing as well so a whole team effort and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
That’s a great question! We wouldn’t say an specific bands but inspirations for the music could be bands like Green Day , Yellowcard , ADTR, The Menzingers ,The Wonder Years
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
The Beatles are a big inspiration to most of the band! Green Day, Yellowcard etc all played a factor on us wanting to play music and start a band.
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …
We really just say go out there and have fun! That’s what it’s all about. Whatever happens is what it is. We like to keep it real.
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
By far playing The Vans Warped Tour back in 2018! Such an honor to be apart of that!
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Definitely Green Day, The Wonder Years, Yellowcard, Evergreen Terrace and our hometown boys in One Step Closer!
