Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.
Cedar Boulevard:
Luke Sharp - Guitar
Christopher "CJ" Marin - Guitar
Isac-Henry Gabriel - Vocals
For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Cedar Boulevard? How long has the band been around?
Cedar Boulevard has been around 2.5 years. Started in Mid 2014, changing singers in early 2015.
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
Cedar Boulevard (Cedar Blvd) is in reference to location the band began demoing, its not the specific name of the place but we liked the feeling of the name. The melding of nature (cedar) and manmade (boulevard) and what that represents for the world.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
Music is mostly written by Luke Sharp with some solos added by CJ Marin. Lyrics and melody are usually written the band as a whole or brought to the table as ideas by Luke.
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
Avenged Sevenfold, A Day To Remember, Metallica, Pierce The Veil, AFI.
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
Green Day, back when I was younger around 18 or so.
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …
Guitar warmups for the fingers so we are prepared for the fast parts of songs. Vocal warmups for the voice as everyone in the band does some kind of vocals. Mental preparation, and just getting excited and energized as a band.
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
Playing Warped Tour, 2015 on the Ernie Ball Stage in Toronto. Getting to share the atmosphere and energy of so many music fans all with the same music tastes.
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Queen, just for the complete showmanship of Freddie Mercury. Avenged Sevenfold, because we feel they are at the top of the rock world right now with their music and performances.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Cedar Boulevard is set to release our new album "Turn To Stone" on February 3. The band hails from Los Angeles and combines hard rock with blistering guitar, soaring vocals and orchestral arrangements. (For fans of Avenged Sevenfold, Pierce The Veil, AFI).
