Unsigned Spotlight: BillionDollarMan

BillionDollarMan are a metalcore band from Sweden.

Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.

Viktor Alvar - Guitar
Dennis Källgård - Guitar
Siros Vaziri - Drums
Oscar Andreasen - Vocals
Ludvig Johansson - Bass

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to BillionDollarMan? How long has the band been around?

We have all been in small unknown bands before BillionDollarMan, some of us actually played together before this band. Siros and Dennis had a band called Alleviate before they joined BillionDollarMan. BillionDollarMan has been around since 2010 and it was Viktor and Oscar who started the band back then.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

For us it’s just a name and it has no deeper meaning to us, so it doesn’t stand for anything. No we have never changed the name of our band, we have no plans on doing it either.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

We all write the material for the songs, mostly we’re writing them together in our rehearsal place but sometimes we do stuff on our own and then show it to the rest of the band. We have no specific themes for our songs, we just write stuff that we like.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Some of the bands we’re listening to right now are Texas in July, Thy Art is Murder, Legend, Whitechapel & Molotov Solution

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

No, not a particular band or artist, we’ve been inspired by so many bands over the years and we all love music so it was kind of a natural thing for us to start a band.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

Nothing specific, we just focus on having a good time and deliver a good performance when we’re on stage.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

So far i would say that it would be our debut EP ”Betrayer” from 2013. That’s when we really found our style and felt that we were on the right track. We’re releasing a new EP in a couple of weeks and hopefully that will be the biggest highlight then.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

For me, I would have to say Whitechapel & Thy Art is Murder. That’s just two amazing bands that really makes great music.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Nothing more than that we’ll release our new EP called ”Ruins” in a short amount of time, go on and check it out when it’s released. It will be released on Youtube, spotify, itunes, soundcloud and so on so stay tuned for that.
