Brand New Release "Science Fiction"

Brand New fans rejoice as the long awaited follow up to 2009's Daisy is finally here. Earlier today, posts on Reddit showed fans receiving a CD with an hour long track and a strange manuscript with text from 2001 A Spacetime Oddyssey. The album was later released on their website for purchase. CD's and Vinyl are set to ship in October but you receive a digital download with each purchase. There is still no word on when the record will be released on streaming services.

There's No 'I' in Envy

The Brand New/Taking Back Sunday feud has been going on since the early 2000's but Adam Lazzara (TBS vocalist) just can't let it go. Speaking to OC Weekly, he was asked about Jesse Lacey:

When asked about playing a song like "There's No 'I' In Team," which directly references a longstanding feud with the band Brand New (specifically front man/former Taking Back Sunday bassist Jesse Lacey), Lazzara continues to add fuel to the old fire. "I think Jesse Lacey is just a dick," he says. "He just sucks. He's not a good person." Lazzarra goes on "Who am I to say?", he says. "There's somebody out there that's gonna say I'm not a good person. I don't know."

John Nolan on Voice & Verse Podcast

John Nolan was on Voice & Verse Podcast and had a pretty in depth talk about Straylight Run's first album.

To commemorate the album’s 10th anniversary, I caught up with John to chat about its creation, how he grew as a songwriter and just who the songs on Straylight Run are – or aren’t – about
