Guitarist Mike York commented:

“Truly hard to believe it’s been 10 years since we released ‘Keep You’. It both feels like it was a lifetime ago and seems like it could have been just yesterday. We, up to that point, had built our reputation on being an aggressive, post-hardcore band. We knew this record would be different, but I don’t ever remember having a conscious conversation about it – like, when we were writing, the songs just took shape in the way they are on record. There wasn’t this concerted effort to soften anything, we just naturally found our way there. Which, in a way, is the most beautiful thing about this record and every single thing we do. We just wrote where the feeling took us, and this became the final result. I couldn’t be more proud of this record, as well as everything we have done for that reason.”
