
Upstart label At Your Command Records is excited to announce their first official signing in Virginia’s Pyro, Ohio. At Your Command Records owner Chelsea Steele had this is say on the signing, “Ever since I heard their first EP I knew these guys were going somewhere with their music, and as soon as I had the chance to meet them I had no doubt in my mind that they love what they are doing. This will definitely be a great beginning for At Your Command Records that will kick off 2013 in the best way possible. I expect big things from Pyro, Ohio” With Pyro, Ohio’s guitarist Stephen saying, “We are extremely excited to start a partnership with At Your Command Records. Their professionalism and passion for our music really sold us on signing with the upstart label.
We look forward to working with At Your Command Records to extend the reach of Pyro, Ohio so that we are able to make more music for our fans into the future.” With drummer George adding, “It seems like all of the right pieces are falling into place for us. I can’t express how excited I am to be signed to At Your Command Records. This is a golden opportunity for us and for myself, a dream come true.”
Pyro, Ohio will head to Amped Recording Studios in Baltimore starting Sunday to record their label debut and the follow up to their self-released January EP entitled Welcome to Pyro, Ohio which is a name your price Bandcamp release. With Luke commenting on the forthcoming release, “I am very excited to get these songs recorded because I am proud of every single one of them and cannot wait to share them with the masses. I think that these are some of the best songs we have written together. Also, I think we are all excited to record because our last release was recorded a couple months after forming the band, so we were still getting used to playing together. We have now been a band for a little over a year and have had time to mature as a band. “
Pyro, Ohio combines a variety of musical influences creating a sound that is both refreshing and modern. The band is most often compared to Chiodos, Circa Survive, A Day To Remember, and Glassjaw. The band was founded August 14, 2011 in rural Christiansburg, Virginia. In July 2012, the band was chosen to play on the Vans Warped Tour as part of the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands competition. They were a part of an online voting competition and received over 13,000 votes which placed them at second place for the venue. In addition to number of votes, the winning bands were also chosen based on their creativity, musicianship, and song writing abilities. They were chosen by a panel of record label representatives such as Warner Bros & Maverick Records as well as the founder of the music festival, Kevin Lyman.
