Rockstar UPROAR Fest Announces New Stage

The fourth annual Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival has added a third stage for most dates of the 2013 trek. The COLDCOCK Herbal Whiskey Showcase Stage powered by Ernie Ball will feature performances from breaking talent including The Dead Daisies, Beware Of Darkness, Charming Liars and more bands to be announced soon. The touring rock music and lifestyle festival will travel across North America from August 9 through September 15, 2013.

Heaven's Basement release video clip for "I Am Electric"

UK rock group Heaven’s Basement recently premiered a video clip for the song “I Am Electric” on Artist Direct. The video can be seen here. “I Am Electric” is featured on the band’s debut album, Filthy Empire, which was released earlier this year via Red Bull Records, and was produced by John Feldmann (The Used, Papa Roach, Black Veil Brides).

The band just wrapped up a batch of US festival circuit dates, as well as a tour with fellow rockers Buckcherry. The band will head back overseas for the Download Festival, and a string of UK dates, this month.

Heaven’s Basement are currently offering a free download of the song “Fire, Fire” on their Facebook page.

Autumn + Colour Signs Atlanta's "Minor Crisis"; Full length Due Out in August

Atlanta-based, electronic rock outfit, Minor Crisis, has signed with Autumn + Colour Records. The band, formed by producer/bassist Jeff Ashmore and Zao founder/guitarist, Roy Goudy and rounded out by vocalist Chris Fincher and The Chariot founder/drummer Joey Hulsey, will release their debut LP in August.

Eve to Adam release video for "Straitjacket Supermodel" featuring Mistress Juliya

NYC rockers Eve to Adam have just released a video for their current single “Straitjacket Supermodel.” The video shows the band performing at a twisted photo shoot, which features leather clad dominatrix Juliya Chernetsky (of Fuse fame), and Playboy Playmate vixen Kristin Nicole. Electric chair’s, ball-gag’s, and an axe also make appearances, all adding up to a truly scandalous experience.

"Straitjacket Supermodel" is featured on the band’s forthcoming album Locked & Loaded which is slated to be released this Summer via 3for5 / Megaforce / Sony Red. The album was produced by an All-Star cast of producers, including Dave Bassett (Shinedown, Halestorm) Eric Bass (Shinedown), and Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Puddle of Mudd, Alter Bridge, Chevelle), and is the follow up to 2011’s Banquet for a Starving Dog.

Eve to Adam will be hitting this road this Summer with Texas Hippie Coalition on the Highway Robbery Tour. The band will also be playing the Sunset Sessions in Carlsbad on the weekend of June 6th, 7th, and 8th.

Review: Scale The Summit - The Migration

With Scale The Summit’s release of “The Migration” I was a bit apprehensive to listen to an instrumental metal/ambient band. Most instrumental bands have nice sounding idea, but fail to constantly entertain the listener. Bands either overdo it and complicate the instrumentation too much, or fall short in keeping the listener enticed with the songs. But I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with “The Migration”. With the exception of a few lulls, Scale The Summit has a unique sound that finds a middle ground between energizing the listener with full band grooves as well as relaxing fans with guitar oriented ambiance. The sound and style of the band follows a similar path of bands like Periphery or even August Burns Red, but takes it a notch or two down in intensity.

Not to be discouraged though, the band absolutely has an album worth checking out. Their opener “Odyssey” is reason enough to check out the rest of the album. This song starts the listener off in a catchy guitar riff that the rest of the instruments groove along to. Most of the other songs mimic “Odyssey” in their own style keeping it interesting with familiar syncopation that can be heard everywhere in the hardcore genre.

Although the album is a powerhouse in heavy instrumental synergy, the band brings a mesmerizing sound of ambiance and reverberated guitar that fits in perfectly with the album. The sixth track “Evergreen” shows the perfect balance of ambiance as well as their full band. With these songwriting techniques, Scale The Summit takes their album a step further and treads into the story-telling part of instrumental music. Whether or not it was their goal to create a concept, a journey can be heard throughout the album. While this is an aspect that can be heard through most instrumental bands, it is not always achieved fully. Scale The Summit succeeds in telling their story of “The Migration”. The band does a more than sufficient job in tying the songs together to create an image and creation that can be followed pretty well throughout the album.

While most of this album rings of praise, there are a few dead spots throughout some of the songs on this album. The only exception here though is that this is something that comes with most instrumental bands, and in the big picture Scale The Summit does a much better job of it than other bands. Most of the ambient parts are of a good length, not boring the listener after 10 seconds, and the songs themselves prove the band to have a unique sound while keeping in the pocket of a genre.

Good instrumental bands are hard to come by but Scale The Summit reminds us all that they are not dead! Be sure to check out and experience the journey that is “The Migration”.  To get a good feel for the album be sure to listen to the opener “Odyssey” or track six “Evergreen”. Keep an eye out for future Scale The Summit activity and be sure to support original and creative bands like this one!

In League With Lions Releases New Single

Harbor Records’ newest signing In League With Lions has just released their new single entitled, “Fist Fight.” from the band’s forthcoming EP. The release, entitled Exposure, will be digitally released worldwide July 9^th  through the label. The single, which can be streamed HERE, is featured on the six track EP.

Tyler Anderson commented on by saying, “We plan on playing as many shows as possible, and exposing ourselves to as many people as possible. That’s partially why we named the EP Exposure. It’s our first release and the first time people are going to hear us.
