Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.

Shawn Daley- Bass/vocals
Bruce Vermett- Drums/Synths
For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to The Casket Company? How long has the band been around?
Casket Company has been around for 4 years. Alex was previously in Flaming Hot Marbles. Shawn is also currently playing in Half Knocked Out and Amelia Airharts. Bruce is also currently playing in Killbot Zero.
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
Alex lived behind a casket factory and was inspired by what he saw daily while living there.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
Everyone contributes to writing the songs. The main themes and topics discussed are life and death. Everyone’s casket is the same size. We need to remember to stay humble, because you can’t take it with you after death. Another current theme is how everything comes full circle in life. We hope the topics will change. If you aren’t evolving, you aren’t growing. We like to challenge each other as well as the audience.
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
The unique thing about Casket Company is that every member has their own influences, and bring their style to the songs.
Alex’s influences: Nirvana, The Chariot, Taking Back Sunday
Shawn’s influences: Clutch, Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters
Bruce: Mike Portnoy, 12 Foot Ninja, Dream Theater, BTBAM
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
Yes. Alex was inspired by Dave Bazaan (Pedro the Lion) and Norma Jean to start writing the songs for Casket Company.
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, etc.
Alex- eating a greasy cheeseburger and tuning my guitar
Shawn- I listen to jazz music or comedy to get in the zone
Bruce- nothing
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
Our latest music video for “Them” has gotten close to 40k views
Also this interview!
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool
Aside from them being our personal heroes, we feel our music would compliment a line up with these bands. Also, we’d have so much fun!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Bruce- “O’Doyle Rules”
