Nodding to their pop-punk idols of present day and yesteryear, Scarlet Bandit imbue their tracks with a splash of the silver screen.

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Scarlet Bandit? How long has the band been around?
Me and Dylan have actually been in a bunch of projects together, we’re kinda the terrible twins of the band I guess. The band has been around officially since around late 2023, but it was the culmination of many ideas going way way way back.
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
The band name actually came from a monster truck I loved as a kid that always stuck out to me, as its driver was (at the time) the only female driver on the circuit, and as a kind of feminine in betweenie person I identify with that singularity. We’ve been Scarlet Bandit since the first moment, we had other ideas but when Scarlet Bandit was brought to the table it was very evident which one was the right option
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
I write them all! Dylan has helped out though certainly with some songs especially on our first record. We mostly talk about the trials and tribulations of youth, real original right? I really hope these will change over time, I don’t wanna write about the same shit when I’m 40, ya know?
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
The bands that really inspired me during the making of our new record have been stuff like Saves The Day, The Matches, Motion City Soundtrack, Feeder, Taking Back Sunday, Sense Field, Four Year Strong, there’s so many I could list but those are some that have been really strong in my mind lately.
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
Back in like 2006 or 2007 I was on YouTube watching monster truck videos, and one of them had “Holiday” by Green Day in the background. Instantly fucking sold. I knew what I had to do.
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, etc …
For me, I’ll run in place, I’ll run through vocal scales and stuff, but there’s this weird skip I do that if I don’t do it, we’re not gonna have a good show. So, if you see me straight frolicking before a show, don’t question it, it has to get done.
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
I think playing the Whisky-a-Go-Go back in November was really the big highlight so far, that was the first time my parents had ever seen one of my shows. 15 years of playing music and NOW they get around to it, crazy right?
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Oh my god, Green Day no doubt about it.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I really hope you dig our new single! If you dig this then you’re going to want to keep an eye out for our upcoming record.
