For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Reason|Define? How long has the band been around?
We’ve all been in a couple of small projects before we were in Reason|Define. We have been in a band together for the past 5 years.
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
We used to be called The Reason You Stayed back in the beginning of our career. We changed it to Reason|Define because we grew out of the name and felt that Reason|Define fit us better.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
We write collectively. All of us contribute to all parts of the songs. The topic of our second album which is being released on March 1st, In Memory…, is about the 5 stages of grief.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
Shelby - All Time Low (Girl, you can’t change where you came from but you can change where you go)
Syd - Paramore at The Fillmore
Paolina - Evanescence (shocker…)
Caitlin - Fall Out Boy in 2007 (absolutely no shame)
Sav - I saw Paolina singing in a different band and I said I want that
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …
Aside from the normal stuff like stretching and warming up, we have a preshow ritual that we do before every show as a group.
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
We have had a lot of really great opportunities, but the biggest accomplishment for us was getting the second album written. We put all of ourselves into this album.
