Never Home was born from frustration, loss, and the sense of urgency that comes with growing up. Seeking healing and catharsis through music, five strangers were brought together by a common desire: to play music that they believe in, and to create something that would outlive them all. This is reflected in their unique and emotional brand of pop-punk.
Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Never Home? How long has the band been around?
We have been a band for about a year and a half.
In terms of previous bands:
Nick- Igniting the Sky
Dan- Retro Light, The Up & Up
Devon- Lewis Vs. Clark
Ian- Bangarang, Five Strikes, Death Do Us Part, Murder By Midnight, Monkey Paw, Team Skulls, Everyn, The Suspects, Thanks To You
Rob- Come Clean (still active).
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
Our name actually came from a suggestion on Reddit. We ended up going with it because it’s also a New Found Glory lyric. It has sort of a familiar sound, and also encapsulates the themes of our music. We've been Never Home from the start.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
Nick has written all of our songs so far. A lot of our center around the frustrations of life and the sense of urgency that comes with growing up. As we mature and continue to find peace with who we are, those topics are sure to change over time. The new music that we are writing is already much less defeatist.
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, Anberlin, The Dangerous Summer.
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
The Wonder Years is the common denominator for us all. We have been hugely inspired by their evolution. They strike the perfect balance between catchiness and lyrical substance, something which we have tried to emulate as a band. They have been huge inspirations to us musically and personally.
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, etc …
For me (Nick), I gotta stretch for at least 10 minutes or I pull every muscle in my body. Vocal warmups are also absolutely necessary.
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
Probably recording in front of [Taking Back Sunday singer] Adam Lazzara. He stopped by the studio while we were recording, and it was quite a surreal experience.
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Nick- blink-182 (in 1999).
Dan- The Wonder Years.
Devon- Underoath.
Ian- Sum 41.
Rob- The Story So Far.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
