Hiiii I'm Mia LJ. I play six instruments (guitar, piano, drums, bass, ukulele, and cuatro), sing, song-write, produce, mix & master.
For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Mia LJ? How long has the band been around?
I've been playing music since I was five years old.
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
I got tired of writing out my full name on papers in the sixth grade and have been abbreviating it ever since haha.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
I compose & produce all arrangements from guitar, piano, drums, bass, lyrics, vocal melodies, etc. My writing source of inspiration stems from experiences and perspectives based on the past, present and future. Ultimately, I just write about my emotions and dreams haha. The topics are ever-changing but all connected. Such is life.
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
Ahhh so many!! Ummm Anderson .Paak, Blackbear, Alina Baraz, Coldplay, Paramore, Masego, everyone.
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
Jimi Hendrix & Lenny Kravitz for sure!
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, etc …
GET HYPE. EAT. GET HYPE.
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
Life.
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
The Beatles [by default], Coldplay, Paramore, Bruno Mars, Anderson Paak, The Weeknd, anyone!!
