Unsigned Spotlight: Jamie Stoffa

Jamie Stoffa is a genre-bending multi-instrumentalist based out of Washington, D.C. Drawing influence from notable scene bands including Silverstein, From First to Last, and A Day to Remember, he blends pop, rock, and post-hardcore with modern production elements to create a signature sound that is both unique and evocative.

For starters, what bands were you a part of prior to this?

Music has always been a big part of my life but I’ve been making music since I was a freshman or sophomore in high school. I started releasing my own music in 2019.

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

It’s my name lol. A solo project.

What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?

The main theme is simply life. The ups and down. Mostly things I’m feeling or going through. The first album I ever put out was with a band called city at dawn. We decided to name the album setbacks. I feel like that’s a good way to sum it all up hahaha.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?

No there wasn’t. I think it was a natural progression. I loved playing drums. then when I met musicians, I loved playing with them. The next thing was to play a show. And that was the most fun I’ve ever had. Still, one of my favorite things to do is play to a room full of people.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

I do vocal warms up, drink lots of water and take off my shoes and socks.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

I think most recently when I released this single. I wasn’t expecting it to put up traction like this.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

I haven’t put much thought into that.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far. I am eternally grateful. To those that don’t know me, hi! I’m Jamie! And there’s more.
