What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
Music is a huge coping mechanism for me. I’ve been in a very dark place mentally for quite some time, but music always gives me hope. It makes things seem brighter in a neverending battle to get better. A fight for better, brighter days. A fight for daylight.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
I (Adrian) writes all the songs. The themes range from love, loss, happiness, heartbreak, substance abuse, life and death. The topics could definitely change, depending on what’s happening around me.
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
So many, ranging from big names like Fall Out Boy and Green Day, smaller names like Movements, The Story So Far and Grayscale.
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
I started helping out HalfTone back in 2015, and their shows kickstarted a want to perform, but I had been writing for a bit of time
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …
I have a plethora of playlists with songs to get me hype to perform, as well as songs that help me warm up my voice. One of the best songs to warm up to is Golden by Fall Out Boy.
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
Biggest highlight for Fighting for Daylight is probably the Only Time Will Tell EP release show in August of 2017. Sold out the Ottobar in Baltimore and signed my first autograph. Second to that would be the time we covered Green Day at a show series titled “The Emo Show.”
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
I feel like touring with Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco would be incredible, they both always put on incredible shows. Also This Wild Life, Movements or Issues put on fantastic shows.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Fighting for Daylight is releasing a full length record titled Save Face on August 16th, the second to last day of the Save Face East Coast tour.
