Can you list all of your band members and their roles in the band.
Tyson Evans-Vox/Bass Slapper
Adam Miranda- Guitar/tries to sing the backup Vox
Adam Galindo- beater of the friggin skins, yo!
For starters, were you apart of any other musical projects before Crooked Teeth? How long have you been a band?
Personally, yes! I had a band from the age of 15 up until early 2016 (I’m 25 in August) called Second to Last. Additionally, both Adam’s are in a straight edge hardcore band called xOne Choicex. Adam currently beats skin when he can for Strife as well. We had our first jam session between the three of us in the spring of 2016 and our first show was July 9th, 2016. We’re creeping up on a year now.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and how do you think these topics will change over time?
Lyrically, I(Tyson), write everything. As for music, I wrote the first EP and we all had our hands on the wheel for the new songs. I don’t think I really ever have a focal point for subject matter. It all just comes down to raw emotion at the end of the day and that could include a vast range of subjects. I think with the current sociopolitical climate, I can say that I’ve been focused on writing songs in a way, lyrically, that anyone can relate to on a human level no matter what walk of life you’re from.
What artists are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
Carly Rae Jepsen, Code Orange and Green Day.
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start making music?
Green Day, Slipknot, Third Eye Blind.
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, fun pre-show rituals etc …
Honestly we just played a show and I smoked a joint with our guitarist. Adam ate some hummus.
What is your favorite tour story?
Blasting porn through the van stereo driving down the street in Euguene, Oregon.
What has been the biggest highlight of your music career so far?
Honestly just meeting really awesome people and living my life surrounded by the music community.
If you could tour with any artists, past or present, who would they be?
Green Day, Saves the Day, Blink 182, Third Eye Blind, Deftones, Nirvana, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Live for yourself, always!
