Unsigned Spotlight: Coldville

Driven by a passion for music and a hope to connect with others, Coldville uses their craft to make a positive impact. Beyond the heavy breakdowns and razor sharp guitar solos, their music is uplifting and empowering.

List your band members and their roles in the band.

Luke Ponce - Vocals

Aaron Lutz - Guitars

Matt Millering - Drums

Jimmy Blankenship - Bass and Keys

For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Coldville?

Kilacel, 5 Minutes Late

What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?

After going through a bunch of names and verifying there use on the internet, we went with Coldville. We are based in Michigan and winters are very cold and the name is simple.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time? Luke writes most of the Lyrics and vocals but most of the songs are a collaboration of ideas.  Most of the songs deal with either real life emotional situations that we can all relate to and finding light  and unity in and divided time.

What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?

Foo Fighters, Three Days Grace, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Shinedown, Pearl Jam, Highly Suspect, and Skillet to name a few. Current events which there is a lot of at the moment.

Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band? So many lol.

What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …

Stretching, Warm ups, and a little drinking.

What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?

Going on a national tour and playing with numerous bands that we look up to.

If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?

Same bands that influence our music and many more. We love music and listen to a wide variety of bands.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Just hoping to reach more and more people around the world, play with more bands that influence us, and constantly make new friends. We are always writing music and ready to play shows.
