Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band.
1. Adam:Guitar/Vocals
Dan:Guitar/Fur Coats
Jack:Bass/Haircuts
Michael:Drums/Sprinkles
For starters, what bands were you guys a part of prior to Between Symmetries? How long has the band been around?
I think all of us were in bands previous to Between Symmetries, but most went unnamed. Jack and Michael were actually in a band together about a year before this. The band has been around for about a year and a half, but this lineup has been together since November.
What’s the origin of that name and have you changed the band’s name before?
There really is no origin, I'm sure we could make something vague up, but we would never lie to you. We just value this relationship too much.
Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs and do you think these topics will change over time?
Adam writes the bedrock and lyrics of every song and the rest of us sort of write to his guitar/vocals both on our own and as a group. The themes and topics on this new release, and this is all I know for sure without speculating, are very personal to Adam, and I'm sure every release to follow might share some material, but only so long as it is still relevant to him at the time.
What bands are currently inspiring the music that you’re making?
Movements, Balance and Composure, Microwave, Touche Amore just to name a few
Was there a particular band/artist or concert that inspired you to start a band?
Michael: For me it was Coheed and Cambria early on in my music listening experience
What do you do to prepare for a show? Any flexing, exercises, ect …
You've gotta stretch out. Major key. We try to drink as much as the venue has allowed us, limber up, and most important of all, we eat some sort of greasy food to make sure our stomachs are in sufficient agony to perform in front of a crowd.
What has been the biggest highlight of the band’s career so far?
Our first mini tour was definitely a dream come true, we met some amazing people in some amazing places.
If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
That's really tough, we'd have to say Movements because we really fuck with them right now.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Not too much, just the usual promo plug. Thanks for having us! Our new album, 'Silhouettes', comes out on September 30. You can pre-order it here, https://betweensymmetries.bandcamp.com, as well as hear the first single, 'The Furnace'.
