Flesh and Bone is my favorite EP to date because it’s so stripped back emotionally. I feel like I got to be more connected to the audience for this one.
"THE FUTURE IS PINK"
"THE FUTURE IS PINK" is all about challenging industry standards and setting off a loud explosion in a sea of normality. This release is different than my others because I don’t think it sounds like anything else right now. It goes against the grain in the best way and hypes me up every time I listen to it.
"SING WITH ME"
"SING WITH ME" was so much fun to record with my friend Zhavia. She is the best singer I’ve actually heard record, it blew me away. This song is about our relationship with music and how it makes us whole. It’s such an important one for me, and I’m so happy I got to collaborate with a song writer I’ve admired for so long.
"TALK TALK"
"TALK TALK" is my most aggressive track to date. This is my response to all of the negative backlash online over the past year. Vitality has its really high moments, but it has its lows too. This is my response to all of the outlandish things I know that people would never have the courage to say to my face.
"FLESH AND BONE"
"FLESH AND BONE" is such a vulnerable track because I discuss my worth as a person through the lens of others. I question my own worth by letting a stranger determine if I’m worth anything to them or not. This is the result of how social media makes everyone feel, and showing the negative effects of reading every single thing online can affect mental health.
"BITE MY TONGUE"
"BITE MY TONGUE" is definitely a softer more ballad type track but such a much needed sound to break up the heaviness of the album. It’s raw, it’s different for me, and it’s a modern take on my favorite era of rock music, 2000’s rock.
"RAIN"
"RAIN" is my favorite track to date for so many reasons but for starters it is my own personal anthem. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemies especially those of us that battle mental health struggles. Sometimes it feels like when it rains it pours, and this song is that exact doom and gloom feeling the whole way through. I had the utmost pleasure sharing this track with my friend Trevor from one of my favorite bands right now (Wind Walkers). I love this one and it is my most successful release to date which makes me so happy to see that it resonates with so many people.
"WHY YOU SURVIVED?"
"WHY YOU SURVIVED?" is so personal for me and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to share it with the world, but this one I wrote for my friend Gabe who was in a tragic accident. He luckily survived, but has suffered the loss of his left arm. It’s been an uphill battle for him since the accident and we’ve felt every low and high emotion since, but this is my song to him. I’ve seen him be so resilient despite all the odds and I had to let him know that he inspires me, and has changed my life for the better. As long as we are both still breathing I want to show him that life is worth living and that I’m not going anywhere.
