This Day In Music History: December 8th

On this day, December 8th, in 1980 musician John Lennon was shot dead by Mark David Chapman in the archway of his New York apartment, The Dakota. Sustaining major gun wounds, Lennon would be pronounced dead on arrival at the Roosevelt in Upper West, New York. The murder of Lennon would leave a mark on the world as these events triggered an outpour of grief that was displayed in numerous ways. Many fans flocked together all over the world hold silent prayers in honor of Lennon, as well as number media outlets, switched their programming to honor Lennon and his work.
