The Maine announced today that they will be embarking on the Free For All Tour in August. Thirteen dates are 100% free and admittance will be on a first come, first served basis. The shows will be played in unconventional venues, such as parks, malls and radio stations. The band revealed in their tour announcement video that this is an idea that they've had for awhile.
“We just want it to be a big party and an opportunity for people who can’t afford to buy a ticket to come,” drummer Patrick Kirch said.
In between free tour dates, the band will play intimate sets of their newest album “American Candy” released in March on Big Picnic Records. Tickets for the “American Candy” shows are on sale now. The band is also raising funds via Square Cash on their website to pay for daily expenses like gas to get from show to show.
