The best album from Deftones turns 18 today.
Entertain Me has all the great stories about how Deftones got together, what it was like in the early years, and all the other shit that we as fans love to hear, but it also flips it, and talks about the price you pay when touring non stop for years, being in the studio for months and years, and how just being in a band effects not just you, but your family and friends. That might be where it gets depressing. Yes, there are moments that are not so happy, both in interviews and on the road. This film was shelved until it was unearthed recently. Watch the trailer below and the actual film here.

Today’s contribution to our 5 Albums That Influenced Me feature comes from Golden Tanks!
Deftones – White Pony: I’m a massive Deftones fan boy and this is hands down my favourite album of all time. A friend back in school first gave me a copy and I must have listened to it thousands of times since and it never gets old. As a frontman/vocalist I don’t think there is anybody I look up to more than Chino Moreno.
The Hives – Your New Favourite Band: The riffs on this album are awesome. The Hives a such a cool sound and Hate to say I told you so and main offender are songs that you can instantly recognize when you hear those riffs.
The Bronx 1: The Bronx have been a big influence for us and this is probably my favourite album of theirs. It’s the perfect mix of punk and hardcore.
The Ghost of a Thousand – New Hopes, New Demonstrations: We constantly have this album playing in the van. One of the best bands to come out of Great Britain in my opinion and this album is fucking awesome. Again the riffs on this album stick in your head for ages.
Megadeth – All the albums: Important reference for any band because if you write anything that sounds remotely like Megadave, it’s going to be shit.
