Sony dropped a bombshell at their E3 conference when they announced Final Fantasy 7 is coming to PS4. To be clear, this isn't a remaster. This is different. They're not taking a PS3 game and upping the resolution. It's completely remaking a game from almost 20 years ago. RPG's have been waiting for this since before time began. Naughty Dog have officially announced they'll be porting The Last of Us to PS4
Moving our efforts to the PS4 has allowed us to remaster an already phenomenal looking The Last of Us in 1080p with a list of upgrades including higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures, along with even more improvements. We love setting challenging technical hurdles for us when working on each game – and this is no different. We’ve been working hard on The Last of Us Remastered to release a next-gen evolution worthy of the 200+ Game of the Year awards, not to mention the acclaim and expectations of our fans. We will be revealing more detailed information about the upgrades for the PS4 version in the coming months.
If you own a PS4 (if you don't, you're missing out!), you can try out Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn as part of the game's open beta test from now until April 7th.
The test, which started this morning and runs until April 7, will allow anyone who owns a PS4 to jump into the MMO without needing to register beforehand. Additionally, the test makes use of the live servers, meaning you'll be playing alongside both PS3 and PC players and, if you decide to buy the game when it releases, the character you make this weekend will be carried over for you to use.
