3 Day Recap of PAX South 2016

Early on January 29th, the streets of downtown San Antonio were flooding with video game enthusiasts making their way toward the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center as PAX South was opening their doors for the second year in a row. PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) is a series of weekend long conventions that has four locations across America and one stop in Australia. It’s set apart from conventions that also make their way through San Antonio such as Alamo City Comic Con and San Japan by being exclusive to gaming. It exhibits developers and producers on both a large and independent scale. This was my first time at any sort of convention but the experience was a great one.

Where Are They Now? 90's Video Game Mascots

Grant Pardee, reporting for VICE, wonders where all the good mascots went to.

Video games are more popular than they've ever been, but somewhere along the way we lost something: mascots, to be specific. Once upon a time, every franchise worth its salt had an anthropomorphic rodent or high-jumping plumber on the box, a far cry from today's landscape of grim men with scars and swords and guns.

Halo 5 Beta

In November last year, 343 Industries released Halo: The Master Chief collection for Xbox One and announced that it would include the beta version of Halo 5. Halo 5 Beta launched on December 29 and will run until the 18th of January.
