Six Best Masked Metal Bands

When people go to a concert they expect to be entertained, and one way artists achieve this is by combining good music with elaborate stage shows, including costumes, masks, etc. With this in mind, Kill The Music would like to share a countdown of some of the best masked acts in the metal world.

6.  Mushroomhead - The metal group already put on a great stage show with sick music, but when you add their individual costumes into the mix,  it becomes even more of a visual experience.

5. Lordi - The band is recognized as the only metal/hard rock group to win the Eurovision Song Contest, but are also distinguished by their monster-like masks.

4. The Berzerker - This group of industrial death metallers from Australia wore some pretty haunting masks during the early part of their career.

3. GWAR - The band is known for their insane live shows, and their costumes which play on their theme of being Antarctic alien overlords. R.I.P. Oderus Urungus.

2. Ghost - The band is known for their catchy songs and satanic church theme, which is only more vivid when performed by the characters of Papa Emeritus and the Nameless Ghouls.

1. Slipknot - Number one is none other than the legendary Slipknot. The band has one of the best, high energy stage shows in metal, which is complete with masks that are all unique to each member, except for current drummer Jay Weinberg and  current bassist Alessandro Venturella, whose masks are similar. R.I.P. Paul Gray.
