Shepard Fairey: Artist or Common Criminal?

Society can rest easy knowing that street artist, vandal, and all around hooligan, Shepard Fairey turned himself in to the Detroit Police Dept. on Wednesday.  Fairey, who was commissioned in May of 2015 by Dan Gilbert to create an 18-story mural, became the subject of an investigation when the artist's tags appeared in 14 other locations around the city.  These tags were not authorized and resulted in the Detroit Police  Dept. issuing an arrest warrant for Fairey.  The city alleges that the tags caused $9,000 damage to private and public buildings.  Fairey is currently being arraigned by the Detroit Police.
