Review: Surfer Blood - 1000 Palms

Surfer Blood is about to release a new album, May 12th, 2015! So glad I picked this up today at the record shop! Limited Edition and everything! This is Alternative Indie band from Florida, In this album they went for a more smooth approach. Great to listen to as background music and even music to fall asleep too. I love the melodies and riffs throughout this album, they add twanging guitar solo's at just the right moments.

John Palm Pitts singing in this album is mellow and soft most tracks, that is alright with me. I can tell this band tried to change it up a little and I think it worked out very well! Here are some lyric quotes I love! :

"I'll be taking my seat at the table cover in oyster shells. in a voice I call my own Please Let Me Go."  - Oyster's are really good, so I respect them for adding them to a song.

"You'll find me in the morning raising the sails, all covered in scales and with seaweed for her hair." - I really love the writing, very surfy and very positive... well unless you get seasick.

I am very impressed with this album and it is a great one to have in your collection I rate this album a 7.5 out of 10! If you want to preorder a physical copy be sure to go to Joyful Noise Records!
