Hailing from Pico Rivera, California, Seasons Change is yet another up and coming pop-punk band. After only releasing an acoustic EP in 2013, the band decided to start working on thier full length. But, are they bringing something new to the scene or sticking to old generic pop-punk. Let's dive into the album and find out.
Seasons Change starts straight into the album with their first track "Clueless". Right away you can tell bands like The Story So Far greatly influenced this band. It goes right into the typical pop-punk lyrics and will leave you reminded of being a whiny teenager as usual. "Clueless" is a great way to start off this album.
Skipping through the album it's full of pop-punk jams. Seasons Change is definitely full of energy and they aren't afraid to show it. Unfortunately this is the band's first full length so it comes with a couple of problems and kinks. It doesn't match up to the quality of bands like The Story So Far, State Champs and Knuckle Puck. I understand that they are newer than the aforementioned bands so I'll give them credit for all of their hard work.
Going to the end of the album the final track "Not Sorry", the guitars, vocals and drums all match up perfectly. This is exactly how all the songs on the album should match up. It's definitely a fantastic way to wrap up the album.
For 11 tracks, $5 is a great price for this new pop-punk band's full length. I'm going to give this album a 7 out of 10 stars. Although they still have to fine-tune their sound, the energy is there and I believe their next release will exceed any expectations set by this release.
