Review: Best Coast - California Nights

Best Coast is releasing their third studio album on May 4th, 2015. I must say this album soars above their past releases with flying colors.

This Lo-fi Indie pop band from LA is at it again. Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno make an awesome team and all of their songs are quite catchy. Most of these new songs are sunny and fuzzy sounding thanks to Bobbs amazing guitar talent backing Bethany's beautiful voice. I am really proud this band is getting more known, Best Coast and Wavves are the most well known lo-fi bands that can be heard on radio stations so they have a lot of shoes to fill. Whenever I introduce someone to lo-fi garage rock I recommend this band as well as Wavves.

Best Coast's last EP and this new album jumped production value, Compared to Their first album "Crazy for You". The band went on tour with The Pixies not to long ago and that is an awesome thing to be able to do. I love how they are a two piece band and their songs sound so full and bright. This album is remarkable!

The single for this album as well as the song they decided to name the album is "California Nights". This is the song they play on the radio, I do enjoy it and it is growing one me. "California Nights" is one of the more mellow songs but does not show the true form of Best Coast. I enjoy it though, it's more accepting to more people who are not aware of this band or music.

Give this album a listen and if you are interesting in buying it you can find it on Amazon! I rate this album a 9 out of 10. Bethany is one of the most talented singers and Bobb is one of my favorite Guitarists. Bethany has a slight country twang to her vocals and Bobb adds a little bit of metal in his riffs. These are two musicians who are domination the lo-fi scene.
