A Perfect Circle have become a rather big name in the Rock scene with the few albums that they have under their belt. Helmed by Maynard James Keenan, whom is also a part of infamous Progressive Metal band Tool, A Perfect Circle have gone on to reach Platinum status over the years, selling records like hot cakes. Three Sixty is a collection of the bands greatest hits, featuring an array of tracks that will have fans squealing with joy as they are bombarded with some of the bands greatest material. Full of good, progressive vibes that make the band stand out, it is a perfect compilation of tracks that help solidify the impact that Keenan and co. have had with their time in A Perfect Circle.
The Deluxe edition of Three Sixty has two discs, the first beginning with 'The Hollow', an upbeat and slightly strange sounding piece of Progressive Rock that shows us the bands versatile sound, switching between Progressive and Alternative Rock with great ease. It's a perfect way to open up a collection of great songs and has some great performances from both the instruments and the vocals. The first disc moves on through with tracks 'Rose', '3 Libras', 'Weak And Powerless', 'The Outsider' and ends with 'Blue'. It's a great collection of some of the bands strongest songs, featuring a vast array of different elements from both Rock and Metal with the instrumental and vocal side of things being put directly in the spotlight. The vocals are great with Maynard showcasing some of the best Rock vocals to date and the instruments accompany Keenan with great ease, making everything flow like a smooth river. The second disc is exactly the same, opening with the infectious, delicate and hauntingly beautiful big hitter 'Imagine'.
It's an atmospheric and haunting piece of work that again shows the bands ability to switch between haunting ballads and upbeat Rock gems. The second disc shifts through mesmerizing and immersive tracks such as 'Passive', 'Counting Bodies Like Sheep To The Rhythm Of The War Drums', 'When The Levee Breaks', live versions of 'People Are People', '3 Libras', 'Gravity' and 'Fiddle And The Drum' and also exclusive track 'By And Down', the first recording the band has done since their hiatus.
'By And Down' is another haunting track and shows the band can still provide amazing material even after such a long elated wait for new material from fans. It will make fans smile and is sure to satisfy fans of A Perfect Circle and of Rock music. Everything works, the haunting guitar work, the haunting yet delicate vocals from Keenan, the grooving bass and the immersive drumming. The song builds up to a slightly more upbeat tempo but still remains as beautiful as it first began.
The perfect compilation of a band that has such a diverse and immersive sound, Three Sixty is something that the fans will love. It features many key tracks from the bands career and is sure to give fans hope when they listen to 'By And Down'. Overall, it marks the band as an important piece within the Rock genre and as key examples of how to make everything seem so fresh even though it has already been done before. It can be haunting, it can be upbeat but it is always mesmerizing, fresh
and consistent, everything a band should be. The perfect compilation piece.
