Capcom confirmed that a remake of Resident Evil 2 is in the works. Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, producer of the original Resident Evil remake released in January 2015, is once again at the helm. Hirabayashi was responsible for pitching the idea of a remake to execs.
Capcom announced that the remake of the classic survival-horror game has been placed with R&D Division 1. No specific platforms were revealed and Hirabayashi admitted that the project was in the early stages but reassured gamers that he and his staff would consider their feedback and deliver a gaming experience worthy of the Resident Evil franchise legacy.
