"Almost a year ago, I sat down in my home studio and demoed ‘Diamonds” over a few days. This track was not only the catalyst for my entire album concept, but it became the launch point for me to take real risks as an artist. Writing it offered me a way to process real emotions, unapologetically, as I was battling my way through one of the toughest seasons I’ve ever been through, mentally."
