The life of a Nintendo, or specifically Pokemon, fan mainly consists of being the very best, like no one ever was, These wise words from the world of Pocket Monsters, known to the English speaking world as Pokemon, live in the blood of every individual who ever trained a Pokemon at any point in their lives. Three cheers for the last twenty years of heart warming human-creature bonding, competitive battling, breeding, exploring, and the utmost best, three cheers for an epic childhood. Here are some memories from yours truly, the Kill The Music crew:
Jonas: The Pokemon franchise has always been a big part of my video game life. Starting out in Pallet Town, just like all "gen-oners", I felt so overwhelmed. Battles, gym leaders and poke balls to pick up. Nowadays, I can start the same game and, even though I've beaten Red too many times to count, feel so overwhelmed. What starter should I pick? What items do I need? Should I try to catch all 151 pokemon? And to the last one is always yes. I'll never forget how rewarding it is to take down your rival (Gary) at the end of the Elite Four (Considering how long it took me to beat them) and become the Champion. One more thing that makes me feel nostalgic about this game, is the famed MISSINGNO glitch. I'll never forget how me and my friends tried it and when it worked, we were astonished.
Mike: Petrified and frustrated, I walked in circles torturing my Pokemon with wild battles, fight after fight, trainer after trainer, traversing this ever long abyss of a cavern that deemed itself Rock Tunnel. My potions were depleted and I had traveled too far in to turn back now. My Wartortle had fainted early on in so I was left with my friends Zubat and Paras. The darkness had continued to bring me into its arms but alas no light was found with my decision to not use Flash. Following the walls, I took another step but up jumped a Pokemon, and that Pokémon was Geodude. I sent out Zubat but Leech Life was too weak and a few hits later I could tell it was time to switch out to prevent fainting. Paras was all that was left but it was able to win by a landslide. At the end of the battle, both Pokemon received experience points and grew levels but it wasn't until what happened after that made everything okay. Zubat was evolving into this awesome creature Golbat that I knew would be an amazing Pokemon to have on my journey. Then Paras showed up and I was confused but then Paras started lighting up! Paras was evolving too into this mystical life form Parasect that I had never even heard of before. A few steps forward and I saw a strange light. A familiar light, one that could be the end of the cave. It was! Rock Tunnel had finally ended and my Pokemon had pulled through. Golbat and Parasect; I could not be any more proud to have them as members of my team.
Mike: I opened the start screen for about the ten thousandth time that day just to stare at one of the best accomplishments yet, the eight Kanto gym badges that were earned over the past journey from Pallet to where I stand now, facing the Indigo Plateau. I remembered all of the grueling battles that my team and I had been through as I gave a good, hard look at them one more time before immersing myself into a metaphysical war of Pokemagic; these were my best friends that I had traveled the entire nation with. Parasect, Tauros, Golbat, Blastoise, Gengar and Muk. A feeling of total awe took over me as the Pokemon championship was in front of us, and the only thing that stood in the way were five trainers just like me, who were once exactly where I was. It was time for us to shine, as I took that last step in the dark corridor of the Pokemon League; it was time.
Mike: After long awaited time I had finally done it. Cerulean Cave had welcomed me in with warm arms as my team of best friends and I made what would be the deepest and most grueling stride yet. Two steps in and I was attacked! Startled and mystified by what stood in front of me, a Raichu had stepped out of the shadows. I had always loved Pikachu but the thought of having a fully evolved one at first shot made me giddy and prideful but maybe a little too much so as I sent my brother Parasect into battle. Not knowing this rival Pokemon's full capabilities, I figured I may have luck on my side so into my bag I went. Having dozens of Pokeballs on hand I reached for the first one and chucked it. The hype was real until I found out it was something so vital to me. I threw my Master ball. Given, I now had my first Raichu, but if I ever needed to catch a Pokemon in one shot again without luck, that opportunity became seconds gone.
In addition to these improvements, dedicated players seeking to enhance their Pokémon GO experience can further immerse themselves in the world of Pokémon by exploring options to order a Japanese Pokémon booster box online, which offers a nostalgic journey through the franchise's origins.
