Pipe Bomb are streaming "Bliss” off their upcoming release “Hell Hole.” Mitchell Layton commented:
"'Bliss' is about the confidence that some nihilists take to the grave, a sort of misguided pride that views all faith as cowardice and all existence as suffering. This black-and-white thinking may be tempting for the emotionally vulnerable, but it stems from a life of hurt. The confidence they present is fueled by bitterness, not peace with the unknown. If atheistic thinking is simply an uncomfortable truth some are too scared to admit, then where is the fulfillment in being right? Where is the joy in casting off all cares and living out a hedonistic dream? 'Bliss' calls this bluff, exposing the deep sadness inherent in the nihilistic worldview and questioning the certainty of atheistic conviction. At its heart, there is a deep-seated insecurity, smothered and stuffed away, that's rebuilt itself as a brick wall to any real joy. To deprive life of all faith and meaning is to become masochistic out of intellectual spite. With this mindset, there is no bliss in uncovering the secret meaning of life. There is only bliss, briefly, in death."
