On This Day In Music History: April 30th

On this day, April 30th, in 1957 Elvis Presley began recording Jailhouse Rock. Although this was only one of three sessions, half the tracks were recorded on this day. Those tracks included "Jailhouse Rock" and "Young and Beautiful".
