Oathgate have shared a lyric video for their new song “Ashes.” The band said the following about that track:
“‘Ashes’ explores the devastating effects of oppression, authoritarian control and the destruction of individual freedom. It’s about a society where people are stripped of their identity, dignity and ability to resist. As the song unfolds, that despair gradually gives way to defiance, collective strength and the courage to fight for a better future. But even when oppression is defeated, the scars remain. The memories don’t simply disappear. We felt this was the right track to introduce Oathgate, both musically and thematically, and to set the tone for the world we’re beginning to build. We wanted to capture something dark, atmospheric and unapologetic, with a sense of storytelling that draws you in before taking you somewhere much heavier. It’s an introduction to who we are and the kind of world we want our music to inhabit.”
