"It’s hard for me to say an exact story behind the song because when we were writing it, I really wanted it to be relatable to the listener. So, I drew on all kinds of different experiences from my past that had to deal with losing someone that I care about a lot...I love. Whether it be friendships, family, my pet goldfish when I was five. You know, pets. But this is something I know everyone deals with at some point in their life.

Basically, even though these things are hard to deal with, that you don’t want to push these memories away and forget about them because these things you go through in your past, all the hardships and everything, make you who you are in this moment!" – Ryan Vega Lead Vocalist/Lead Guitarist, Nearly Spent
