You just wrapped up on a summer tour, what were some of the highlights of this tour? Favorite cities to stop in?
Yeah we just got back last week, it was a blast! Getting to go and play a couple of dates in Florida was awesome. We had never been down there before so it was cool to explore some territory that's a bit unfamiliar to us, not to mention the shows we were able to play down there were fantastic. We also loved stopping in Cincinnati and Columbus. We've played in both cities a few times in the past and its always been a great time. Honestly the entire tour was great from start to finish!
What are you hoping to accomplish with the rest of this year?
We're going to record some new material in October so we're really hoping to have an EP finished by the end of the year for a early 2018 release. We also have our eyes set on doing another run later this fall. We'll be keeping busy for the next few months!
What you guys are bringing to the table is something very refreshing to the scene, what has been some of your biggest inspirations and how do you manage to stay set apart from other bands in your genre?
When it comes to our creative process, we really try to not limit ourselves, or try to contain what we're writing to a specific genre. If the four of us like something musically we've developed, then we'll roll with it, regardless of what genre it might fit in with, I think that's always been a big aid with our sound as a band. Also we each have pretty different musical tastes, which I think has also been a big help to us. When you have four people coming in with four differing ideas and inspirations, the results can be awesome.
You’ve been said to be paying worthy tribute to epic bands of our youth such as Taking Back Sunday, Circa Survive, and Brand New, how does that feel?
That's honestly wild! Those have been some of our favorite bands since we all picked up instruments. To even draw comparisons to those guys is pretty surreal. Hopefully the music we're making is able do enough justice to be worthy of those comparisons. We're very proud to be playing in the vein of those bands.
What’s been the most rewarding part of being a band?
I would say the most satisfying aspect is simply just being able to create music. There's nothing more rewarding than writing the music we want to write, and then hearing a song or an EP come together, and knowing that the four of us worked as a team to put it all together.
Anything else you’d like to add?
If you have a chance, come hang out at a show sometime! We always love to meet new people and be on the look out for a new EP in 2018. But most importantly, keep it 💯.
