After a draft of the The Hateful Eight script was leaked last January, Director Quentin Tarantino almost squashed all plans to produce the film. He launched a very public investigation into who leaked the script but no one was formerly identified as the culprit. After cooling off and having a successful table read, Tarantino decided to proceed with production. He made several significant changes to the script, including rewriting the ending and rounding out the all-star ensemble cast.
The Weinstein Company has revealed the official teaser trailer for the Tarantino film that almost never was. They also announced that the film would be released in select theaters on Christmas Day and will make its way to theaters nationwide on January 8, 2016. The Hateful Eight is already being recognized as one of the most anticipated films of 2016.
