East Nashville rock duo Her Leather Jacket talk about the bands that influence their music..
01. blink-182
Blink has been the soundtrack for everyone’s lives for the past 25 years for a reason. Travis is a major influence to us and our sound, especially when creating our first EP.
02. Underoath
We got really into Underoath after meeting Aaron Gillespie. Not only does the band rip live and on recordings, but the chemistry between Aaron as a drummer and Spencer as a vocalist is a big inspiration for us.
03. Mötley Crüe
They are classic Rock and Roll… no fucks given attitude. It’s some of the best 80’s rock tunes with one of the best rock drummers.
04. Post Malone
Although we don’t sound like Post, he is a vibe and the energy he brings is what makes him an influence of ours. His music is always on in our green room.
05. The All-American Rejects
They are pop-rock/pop-punk legends. After we decided to step away from making country music, we were in the studio with Nick Wheeler. He played and produced our EP and was a huge asset in helping develop our rock sound.
06. Bring Me the Horizon
Oli Sykes just delivers as a front-man. Their live shows are insane from production to performance.
07. The Pretty Reckless
They are a straight-forward, no B.S., rock and roll band. The way Taylor Momsen writes and performs takes you right to the grit, no gimmick that rock and roll is.
08. Falling in Reverse
Although Ronnie Radke is definitely known to stir the pot, musically and creatively, he is out of this world and maybe almost literally. :)
09. Coheed and Cambria
They are a kick ass alternative, hard rock band that continues to put out great music. Plus, Josh Eppard is a sick drummer.
10..Say Anything
Max Bemis, as a songwriter, is kind of an anomaly. Their music just hits. Fun Fact: Wes has seen them perform at least 15 times.
Her Leather Jacket’s upbeat and emotionally charged single, “Cut Me Up” is out now. Listen below:
