Guest Blog: High Street's "Revival"

Our debut EP was written over the span of the entire 2020 lockdown, while Erik was in the midst of auditioning musicians to partake in the new High Street lineup. Overall, the EP is composed primarily comprised of hard rock songs with a delicate ballad that puts together the perfect combination of music for the band’s first EP.

Revival is a concept EP, meaning that each song is directly related to each other and is a part of one overarching story. The first song, “Swallow Your Pride,” details a story about past trauma and the fight to survive with the daily struggles one has to go through. The second song, “Bad Blood,” discusses what exactly the trauma is and how it can be addressed. “Light of Hope'', the third single, contains a positive message that anyone can overcome their trauma and past struggles, it’s just a matter of time. And finally we have, “Rock Bottom Blues.” This song is about what life is like after overcoming the hardships, and ultimately moving on.

The music for this EP was written entirely by our lead guitarist Erik Findling, while the lyrics were written by lead vocalist, Noxigen. A blues inspired rock guitarist, most of Erik’s riffs are influenced heavily by the likes of Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Slash.
