Guest Blog: Behind The Scenes of SAME PAINS “terminal” Music Video

SAME PAINS have erupted back onto the Metalcore scene with their most aggressive track to date - “terminal”. We’ll be looking behind the scenes with Guitarist Ben Burrows:

"When we started to put together “terminal” we decided early on we wanted this to have a music video and it needed to be as raw as the track itself. Pretty soon after that we landed on Colin Jeffs as being the type of creative who could do this for us.

I recall we all flew into the Gold Coast to film, spent the first half of the day walking along the beach and smashing energy drinks as shooting didn’t start until 6pm and most of us had been awake since early that morning.

When we rocked up to the shoot location, I was surprised to find it was a barbershop. Not what I expected but after looking around I could see the vision and we made good use of the surroundings for light reflection etc.

Colin absolutely worked us to the bone; Simon would have done more takes than I can remember – I weighed about 15kgs more at the time and was struggling. But it was an absolute pleasure to work with such a seasoned professional; lots of inspiration happened in the moment for certain shots like the mirror and crawling which showed how invested he was in the shoot.

I recall we would have finished around midnight with a drive from Gold Coast to Brisbane to go. We were kept going by a Guzman Y Gomez restaurant down the road that probably wasn’t a suitable dinner in the middle of so much physical activity.

After that shoot I had a massive wake up call about how badly out of shape I was, joined a gym and started running everyday. Thanks Colin!”
