Earth Day: How "Green" Is The Music Industry?

The aftermath of festivals such as Warped Tour, Lollapalooza, Coachella, and more (The list could go on forever) is overwhelming. Trash upon trash, water bottles, shoes, and more you would never expect to be on the ground after a concert, will be there. Of course there are cleanup crews, but there are also groups that reach out extra to achieve that the fest's are green all around. Lets take a look.

Warped Eco Warriors is a group who focuses on making the Vans Warped Tour as green as possible. They encourage fans to use the recycle bins at shows, volunteer with non-profits, and more. The Eco Warriors also collect recyclables throughout the day. Speaking of Warped Tour, don't forget the festival has reusable water bottles you can purchase, as well as a refill station at every date, to help cut down on plastic usage and disposal. If you do happen to use plastic bottles, be sure to dispose of them in the recycling bins at the venue!

Green Vans is a company built by musicians, for musicians. This is where bands and artists can rent tour busses which are eco-friendly. The busses are converted to run off waste vegetable oil (WVA) and help save the environment a little bit at a time. This is a good choice for those musicians out there who are environmentally friendly!

The music industry has come a long way to being more eco-friendly, by turning to recycling and solar power energy. There is no other way than forward from here on out. Do your part for the environment, and help keep it healthy! This is our planet, and our home. Happy Earth day 2016!
